- MONTEPULCIANO is a medieval and Renaissance hill town. Montepulciano is a major producer of food and drink. Renowned for its pork, cheese, "pici" pasta, lentils, and honey, it is known world-wide for its wine. Connoisseurs consider its Vino Nobile, which should not be confused with varietal wine merely made from the Montepulciano grape, among Italy's best. The city is renowned for its walkable, car-free nature.

The most famous city of Val d’Orcia, it’s one of the symbols of Tuscany. You can find its countryside in all the postcards about Tuscany….but this time you can see it with your eyes!
And for sure you will know it for Pecorino di Pienza …the cheese of Tuscany!!
In 1996, UNESCO declared the town a World Heritage Site, and in 2004 the entire valley, the Val d'Orcia, was included on the list of UNESCO's World Cultural Landscapes
